Survey on the Awareness of the Concepts of “Family Pharmacists” and “Family Pharmacy” among Josai University Students, Faculty, and Staff: The Role of Josai University Pharmacy

A new “Family Pharmacist/Family Pharmacy” system began from April 2016. A questionnaire survey was conducted with students and staff at Josai University to investigate their awareness of the new system. The total level of awareness for “Family pharmacist” was 70%. According to the results, there was a difference in responses regarding “Family pharmacists” between pharmaceutical science students/staff and non-pharmaceutical science students/staff. Therefore, the former was analyzed as “pharmaceutical science-related individuals” and the latter as “non-pharmaceutical science-related individuals.” Awareness of the existence and role of “family pharmacists” was significantly higher in pharmaceutical science-related individuals.Moreover, it was found that trust in the “family pharmacist” was not high, and that “family pharmacist” selection methods were not understood. It is thought that publicity, including educational publicity, regarding “family pharmacists” is necessary to increase awareness of and trust in “family pharmacists.”研究論
